Andrii, whos career as 3d visualizer began in 2005, created a team with his friend Olena Chyslova. So two persons are main rod of the team – 3DVisDesign. But also they have talented people sometimes working with them on big projects. in general 5 persons with education degrees in architecture, interior design, furniture design.

– Every project starts from collecting materials and client’s wishes. How do you negotiate with clients? What do you ask for?
Initial information, task description and references. Very important when clients know what they want to see in final.

– How do you work: in your own style or under clients guidance?
Always depends from the task. For the most part we try to show our options for lighting or camera angles, better from our point of view, but if the customer insists on its variants we have to comply task.
– How is you working process look like? How many revisions allowed to make?
First we do previews in gray and after step by step we add textures, lights, effects etc. Although over time formed permanent individual approach to work with each client.
– Have you refused to do the project and if yes why?
Yes, when clients need top quality visualization, very fast, cheap and in best quality possible…:)
– With what kind of client you will never do business again?
Those who do not know exactly what they want, or want really to much, while paying very little, and also those who like to stretch out projects for several months.

– How do you calculate/estimate project price?
Initial Information, urgency and quality effect on price
– Do you charge for rendering?
For time rendering – no, only if we use render farm.
– Do you have technical education? Does it helps in 3D?
i do not have technical education in 3d visualization. Perhaps it can help to optimize and speed the process of creating renders if i had one, but most important is the artistic vision.
– Client is nice, project agenda is clear, now you need inspiration to get started. What are your sources of inspiration?
If there is enough time, than you can surf the Internet for examples of lighting or the environment, and try to play like that. If there is a lack of time, use only imagination and experimentation.

– Who is your favorite 3D artist or company?
– There are 2 types of visualizers: one who heavily rely on post-work (they do not render scene completely, but only parts of it, and one who try to get complete scene after render process and apply basic post-work) From which side you are and why?

Most of the time I have done everything in geometry. It allows you to process a lot of angles, and if necessary, make quick edits to the whole scene. Recently start to practice the second option too, or a combination of the two methods.

Almost all of the renderings made only with 3D are very similar, because the authors used the same library of 3D models and standard templates for lighting. Post-processing allows to develop more imagination and artistic vision. It is always an individual approach to a particular image. Of course this increases the time spent on one image, but also increases its price and quality. Іn any case it depends on project tasks, timing, difficulty and complexity of the object.

– How would you rate your level of expertise in 3D graphics on a scale 0 till 10. In what areas you would like to get more knowledge?
The level ranges from 7 to 10 depending on how interesting work and how well is paid. We need improve: post processing, matte painting and the rest as needed.

– What were the main sources of training that you used if any? Which one you can recommend?
This Is interesting, when I started it was zero information in internet with training and tutorials, now you can find all on Youtube.
– Do you participate in contests?
Yes , and even took the awards here is the one
– Do you have any personal ideas in 3D which you would like to realize (maybe someone has similar idea and later you can connect with each other in order to help accomplish an idea)?
Such ideas better to keep to yourself until you put them into practice, otherwise you can lose an interest.
– What is your greatest work that you have done? The most challenging project you have worked on?
The best is yet to come of course, but from past projects the best ones I did for myself without any comments from the customers.
– What do you think about general 3D visualization level in your country
Ukrainian Freelancers are the top five world leaders in terms of income and quality.
– Market is overwhelmed with the low quality/price offers. There are many programs which allow creating simple 3D without any knowledge. Don’t you see a threat for your profession in near future?
Professionals are always in demand, 80 percent of the market now serving 20 percent of known artists or companies, in the worst case they qualify for re-qualification.

– What are your long-term goals or career plans?
Improve my skills in visualization, learn how to use real-time engine for architectural visualization.
Advice from Andrii how to achieve high quality level in 3D visualization and how to attract more clients:
Focus on details and compare with real world. Main thing is to develop imagination and be willing to make each new image not typical to other. Develop individual approach to each project. You can try the best you can. If you try the best you can. The best you can is good enough.
